1. Make a game plan for an event; if you are able to see a roster for who is attending the event, plan the people you want to talk to that will have the most impact for you. See if you can get people to introduce you to the other people you need to talk to as well because in introduction is always easier to start a conversation.
2. Plan a way to end a conversation; don’t spend all you time talking to one person, you need to have a way of ending the conversation so that you can get a chance to follow through with your game plan.
3. Be yourself; if people like who you are, they will be more naturally drawn to doing business with you because they feel like they can trust you and commit to an ongoing business relationship.

It’s not that hard to do. Owning a business can be a lot like dating, as long as you are willing to put yourself out there, things will happen.
